Profile

Professor of Tourism at Sun Yat-sen University, doctoral supervisor, and researcher in urban tourism and sojourn mobility, digital culture, tourism and events, investment and project management, and the planning and design of theme parks and tourist attractions. Since 2012 he has taught core courses in tourism principles, project management, theme park management, tourism real estate, and research methods, receiving six teaching achievement awards, including a national second-class award. He has led and participated in competitive grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Fund of China, the Ministry of Education, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province. He has published more than 100 journal articles, four national planning textbooks, four monographs, and one translated book. He serves on multiple editorial boards and expert committees, and consults on theme parks, urban tourism and resort planning, tourism asset evaluation and securitization, and cultural tourism investment and financing.
